The advantage of stylable artificial hair is that it can withstand heat. You can shape it with heat, creating waves out of straight hair or making wavy hair straight. This is possible with special Futura fibres from Ellen Wille. Gisela Mayer’s stylable artificial hair is velvety but heat-resistant: Techno fibres. Techno stands for high tech, quality and innovation. The artificial fibres are clearly superior to normal artificial hair because normal synthetic hair fibres cannot withstand heat. Blow-drying may damage or, in extreme cases, melt them.
Stylable artificial hair is particularly good if you enjoy visiting the sauna or if you spend a lot of time in hot and sunny regions. Stylable artificial hair is also suitable for cooking fans, because the hot air from the oven can be dangerous for normal artificial fibres. However, please note: The heat-resistant properties of stylable artificial hair have their limits, because the hair is only heat-resistant up to 150 degrees Celsius. This means that you should only use hair-care devices with a built in temperature regulator, as can be found in many straightening irons. Without a temperature regulator, many hair-care devices quickly reach 220 degrees, at which temperature they are certain to damage stylable artificial hair.
The most striking difference between stylable artificial hair and Cyberhair is the price. Cyberhair is available from approx. 1200 euros and is very close to real hair. For example, it absorbs water like a sponge, becoming properly damp, requiring drying. So, despite the artificial fibres, the hair looks very natural. Stylable artificial hair is much more affordable and it is perhaps a plus that, like normal artificial hair, water simply runs off it. The advantage is that your hairdo will not lose its shape as quickly! And after washing, Techno fibres spring back to their original shape.
